My work is always evolving. What does stay constant are two things. One is my desire for simplified, elemental, almost primordial form; leaves, pebbles, diatoms, planets. The second is my fascination with pattern. While previous work focused on natural patterns, and their reoccurrence across different materials and scales, I am currently focusing on man-made patterns.
My work is an interpretation of these patterns in metal. I make drawings based on found images, then either pierce those drawings into bronze, sterling, copper, or nickel silver, then solder that lacy pattern onto fine silver, or photoetch sterling in relief. This patterned sheet is then used as an element in a hand fabricated hollow or domed form.
